Team Easton's Peter Elzinga Shoots Highest Score in History- X10 ProTour sets New World Records.
The Netherlands, May 17, 2009
With an incredible performance with his new Easton X10 ProTours in challenging weather conditions, Easton Pro Staff shooter Peter Elzinga (NED) today crushed the existing 144-arrow FITA round World Record by an incredible five points.
The Dutch shooter also eclipsed the existing 70M world record with a near-perfect 358 out of 360 points, and he also shot a perfect 360 at 30 meters.
The 144-arrow FITA round is archery's supreme test of accuracy, requiring pinpoint precision with 36 arrows at each of four distances, 90, 70, 50 and 30 meters. The 10 ring at 90 and 70 meters is less than 5 inches in diameter, requiring nerves of steel and perfectly accurate equipment to shoot this level of score.
ProTour's advanced wind-cutting design is proven to be the most accurate arrow ever developed for long-distance compound competition. That weather-beating attribute was put to the test in the rainy and unstable conditions under which Peter set the new World Record.
Easton President Greg Easton expressed his congratulations to Elzinga on behalf of everyone at Team Easton. "Peter's incredible score makes all of us at Easton extremely proud. The tremendous effort we put into R&D and our dedicated adherence to the world's most stringent arrow accuracy standards means the same world record performance shafts used by Peter can be found at your local pro shop. We are very proud to support the hard work of the world's finest shooters with the world's most accurate arrow shafts."
